Maybe it’s just another unfulfilled childhood ambition but I really want a treehouse. And I don’t just mean a glorified garden shed on stilts. No, that wouldn’t do- just think of the spiders! What I want is a proper house in a proper big tree that I can actually live in. Like these fairytale structures from English company Blue Forest.
These are inordinately impressive, but you would hear some strange noises at night. Would take some getting used to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comments Róisín. I tried to publish your comment but it disappeared into the ether??
ReplyDeleteThese tree houses are great, i stayed in one in france once upon a time.
It was flippin brilliant.
stay magical.
I want one too... but as i'll never be able to afford it maybe we should all chip in and but one between us :)
ReplyDeleteJJ- Never thought of that. I'm such a big chicken I'd lie think The Others were coming to get me all night!
ReplyDeleteOsmand- Don't talk to me about the interweb. I think there's a wee monkey out there somewhere who sits monitoring my online movements and presses a button to mess everything up at just the worst time. I bet right now he's a having a wee giggle to himself as I write this. If you actually get to read it then he might have gone to the loo. Anyway, so you got to stay in a treehouse in France! You lucky so and so. I think the best family holiday I was ever on as a kid was when we went camping in France. It would been so much cooler in a treehouse though.
Laura- Good idea. Maybe we could lease a tree off the farmer who owns the Battery field? It could be your holiday home!
They are all beautiful but the first looks most like a Wendy House, just what I would have wanted.
ReplyDeleteWhat charming and unusual things you have featured here, I must visit more often!
A few of these look like views from Rivendell! Lovely
ReplyDeletewowzer!
ReplyDeletefirstly i haven't been in here in a bit - im loving the new lay-out :-)
secondly - how awesome are those tree houses??? it's like The Lost Boys, the peter Pan ones not the vampires obv.
Tree-houses unfortunately will have to wait til little footsteps are heard an that wont be for a while yet!!! i hope :-)
I cannot express how perfect this would be. Words could not discribe it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always wanted my cabin in the woods (ala Walden). Hmmm. Maybe it will be a treehouse now instead.
