Pencil Art
So strange, I was just reading about this guy in the paper today (now technically yesterday) and about half an hour later I checked my emails and my sister had sent me a link to him. Spooky, eh? Not really; I think there must have been something sent out on the wire about him today because his work was in a few newspapers. Which means any of you in the UK area may have already seen him today too. For those of you who missed him though, his name is Dalton Ghetti and he carves these lovely little pencil-top graphite creations using only a sewing needle, a razor blade and a knife. Amazing, aren’t they? (Oh, and by the way, I couldn’t find an actual website for Mr Ghetti that I could link to but I got the images here.)

Those carvings are absolutely amazing. I will have to look him up.
There is something about miniature carvings,it's about precision and patience and you just have to take a closer look.Very clever idea ,beautiful.
First look, it's a pretty cool picture. Upon closer inspection -WOWSER! Love it!! I could never do this. Never. I'd love to see these up close and persona. They are just amazing. - Kathy
They are great, aren't they. I actually forgot to mention this, but apparently he doesn't even use a magnifying glass while he works! I don't know why, but that seems to make them even more amazing!
Good lord they're amazing! The teeny letterbox is so adorable. The skill is unbelievable.. I wish I could do that!
Carved pencils!!!!! that takes quite some skill and patience, I'm impressed.
Love the sisterly synchronicity!!!
I had a weird one with The Weesk, unknown to me it's my sister's pet name from her husband!! She couldn't believe it when she saw it ;)
That's mad Melanie! Maybe he was some otherworldly being from your childhoods that you forgot about when you grew up and now that's your way of honouring him without realising it!
Wow, this is so incredible! Thank you for sharing.
What a great thought Roisin, it gave me goosebumps!!!
No way! That's amazing!
Oh my, i love these, i love it when my pencils get worn down wee and the added bonus of the carving makes them perfect!
