Yum?

Anyone who’s been following this blog for a while will know that I’m a big fan of Lost At E Minor. Ever since a friend introduced me to those wacky Aussies some time back I’ve been regularly checking in for my weekly dose of the weird and wonderful. They really do find the best stuff, from the bizarre to the down right amazing. I’m not sure which category I’d put this next find of their’s in, though. Candied bacon from The Sticky Pig. That’s right, bacon sweets.

I know it’s all the rage with some chefs to come up with the most unlikely foody combos, and that apparently they sometimes work. Anyone remember Heston Blumenthal’s bacon and egg ice-cream? That was supposedly lovely. Still, I don’t know. I love bacon. In fact it’s probably the only reason I’m not a veggie, which is weird because pigs are one of my favourite animals. Poor wee things, why do they have to taste so bloody good? I once went  the best part of a year without eating meat but the smell of a rasher crisping under the grill lured me back to the dark side.  But candied bacon? Who knows. I suppose bacon does taste good with maple syrup. And I did used to enjoy apple and salt sandwiches, which some people might think weirder than this “indulgent” delicacy.

I love bacon myself, and those treats sure look good....but candied bacon? I don't think so.

LOL! I always say I would probably be a vegetarian too if it weren't for bacon. I was just a donut shop the other day where they a maple bar donut with strips of bacon on the top. It really didn't look that pretty but I secretly thought it probably tasted good... The bacon craze sure is..well crazy! Don't know about candies bacon, I'd have to try it first. Heehee

Apple with salt sounds promising, possibly as unexpectedly good as chocolate with salt. Nice to find your blog!

It seems all your reactions were as mixed as my own! I suppose if they tasted half as good as they look then they'd be pretty yummy. Thanks for stopping in folks :)

Hiya Roisin, I must say, these bacon goodies make my mouth water in a funny sort of way. Who doesn't love bacon? And, if you don't, you need to have your head examined. I think bacon and maple are the next best thing to heaven, so it just might be possible that these little bacon goodies are heaven? muahahaaa Awesome, now where can I find these in the states? hehe Fabulous find. :-D And, it's good to see you again too.

Hugs,
Lori

Amy- Aw, thanks missus. I love your blog too!

Annalee (I finally noticed that that's your name!)- I really must check that out when I get the chance. Sounds yummy!

Lori- Hello there! I totally agree about bacon and maple syrup; that's what makes me think these could be good too. Oh, and I think the Sticky Pig who makes them are actually based in LA, or somewhere out that direction. I know that's still far away from you, but you can order them online too. If you do try them don't forget and let us all know the verdict!
