Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Happy Hogmanay all! Anybody have any exciting plans for tonight? I’m set to have my quietest New Year’s EVER! I’m not heading out anywhere, which’ll be the first time since I was a teenager, and neither am I going home to my Scottish mother’s house, which will actually probably end up madder than any pub or party I’d have been going to anyway. It’ll always does between the crazy (in a good way) relatives and their wacky traditions. Instead I’m sitting in with himself, who’s all dosed up now too, and having a nice relaxing one. I’m rather looking forward to it, actually. Anyway, just wanted to wish you all the best for 2011 and let you know how wonderful it’s been getting to know you all over these past months. Here’s to another great year of blogging!

Happy New Year to you!
I haven't seen Imaginarium yet, but it's been sitting in my movie line up just waiting. I can't wait!
(BTW: There is a travel show about Ireland on my television right now and I SO want to be there!)
We might go out this evening which we usually don't do so it should be fun. My brother and his wife are joining us. The city I live in hosts this fun street fair kind of party that lasts all evening long. Lots of business stay open late and set up make shift stages for live music. I tend to like staying in for this holiday, but I think I may just be in the mood for a little public reveling!
All the best to you! I hope your evening is lovely. On to 2011!
I'm having a quiet new years eve, too. we're all waiting for midnight to say goodbye to 2010 and to welcome 2011. happy new year!
Happy Hog- what you said. I'm
guessing that that means Happy New Year or something on that order. I hope you enjoy your quiet New Year's Eve. We are also settling in and having a quiet time of it. Fragrant, but quiet!! LOL - Have a great weekend. I got a feeling that 2011 is going to be a wonderful year! For all of us. Cheers - Kathy
We always have a quiet New Year's Eve. Our tradition is to curl up with some movies until it's officially the new year.
Hope you're feeling better! Happy New Year!
Happy Hogmanay, Roisin. Hope you're not affected by that bloody stupid water business. That's terrible!
New Year's Eve is the time when I most miss the woman's touch, but never mind. I had a little 10-year-old Ardbeg left.
Hapy New Year!
I look forward to enjoying more of your magical finds here in 2011. Meanwhile- get well, stay well, blog well, be well!
Blessings

A belated Happy New Year, Roisin! Love that photo of the postcard (?), very weird combination of images, wonderfully bizarre.. Hope you had a lovely one and that 2011 will bring you lots of good health, joy, prosperity and the occasional pensive mood to reflect on it all :)
We did the same... grilled a feast of veggies before the real cold came back yesterday in Wisconsin, brrr... and enjoyed the fire and each other. Not much for the party scene anymore. I want you to know that I am blessed in knowing your light and fairy nice things! hee hee. Blessings friend.
Belated blessings for the new year, hope it's filled with inspiration for you!
The information is very good and very useful.
