Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

Just calling in to say a quick happy St Patrick’s day to you all! It’s never been my favourite holiday to be honest; there’s always a great festive feeling here during the day, but by this time in the evening it just gets messy.

In saying that I have always been fascinated by young Pat and the role he played in moulding paganism into the modern day Irish Catholicism we have today (I’m a boring auld fart, I know). Time is pressing this evening , though, so I can't get into it right now. Instead I’m going to cheat and point you in the direction of my Paddy’s Day post from last year - it’s one of those long-winded rambling ones so if you’re needing some help falling asleep I’d thoroughly recommend it ;)

Anyhow, I hope everyone's well and I plan on getting caught up with your comments and posts really soon. In the meantime here’s another wee shamrock photo:

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Did you wear green? I didn't wear green :(. I was thinking green, though.

Happy St. Patrick's DAy!! Although by now I suspect it's over and you are fast asleep. OR - just coming home!! I'm going to have to go spelunking on Google for more St. Pat info. I didn't know all that. Great stuff as always. You are quite a writer, you know. Cheers - Kathy

Happy St Pat's to you three two, hope you had a great day!

Cymru - No, I didn't actually wear green, which is s weird since the vast majority of my clother happen to be some greeny shade or another! Even my everyday winter coat I've been wearing almost constantly for the past few months, but the weather was so nice yesterday I left it behind. By the way, I've meant to ask you this before, are you Welsh or is Cymru actually your name? It's a lovely one if it is!

Kathy - I was actually very sensible yesterday, only had one wee whiskey and was indeed fast asleep at that time :) So glad of it today! Glad you liked the post, and thanks for your kind words on my writing. I'm not inclined to agree, but thanks! Actually, reading back over the post again I realise I didn't acutally explian hald the things I thought I did in it. Hope Google filled in the gaps for you!

Jeanne - Thanks my dear :)

I'm part Welsh (my paternal grandfather was Welsh) but mostly I'm of Norwegian descent (my mother is from Norway and most of my family lives there, though I was born and grew up in the States). Cymru is not my real name, though maybe it should be . . .hmmm. I've always just used that name because of my heritage, and well, it's just plain beautiful. Thanks for asking.

Oh, by the way, the weather here in the desert southwest is finally feeling like Spring after such a nasty winter! Saint Patrick's Day was the first day in a long time I actually spent outdoors in the garden. Time to finally put the coats away! I'm glad you had a nice Saint Patrick's Day as well.
